This involves designing and putting together chemistry workshops and kits, which are used to engage with the general public and students. Kits and workshop packs are then sold to the general public in order to recover costs of attending events, which Marbling Madness attends for free and does not charge fees. The kits and stands at shows require reagents, artwork and graphics as well as a need to discuss science careers with the general public, multiple skills all coming together to run a successful promotional outfit. A science communication outfit which attends shows and events around the South of England, providing educational fun workshops to stimulate children and adults alike.Successfully founded and launched the venture, showing science to people of all ages in an innovative way; see www.marblingmadness.com.Developed highly visual, safe content in the home laboratory, such as marbling kits and bath bombs.Presented workshops at schools, fairs and festivals, encouraging participation and promoting science as fun.Designed modular workshops, managed projects, planning time and using solid multi-tasking abilities.Motivated audiences via interactive sessions, providing enriched attendee experiences with successful outcomes.BUSINESS SKILLS and ACCOMPLISHMENTSIT Skills: Sage Line 50 for stock control / BOMs; Wastage database system; MS Office applications; batching and other in-house systems; Highly competent PC and Apple Mac userFinancial: Responsible for minimising labour and chemical product costs; Sourcing suppliers and negotiating pricesHR Tasks: Training; leading teams; allocating tasks; monitoring performance Show less
