Worked with the MoNA Collaboration and their experimental setup based at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory's Facility for Rare Isotope Beams at Michigan State University:- Used Los Alamos National Labs' Monte Carlo N-Particle code (MCNPX) to model and simulate a high-energy neutron detector consisting of a scintillator bar array.- Engaged in hands-on experiments at Gettysburg College with scintillator bars to better understand the full-scale project before working with it in person.- Learned the basics of data analysis using ROOT.- Co-presented a poster with my fellow student researchers at the American Physical Society's Division of Nuclear Physics Conference Experience for Undergraduates at Michigan State University.
