In the role as Teamlead Mapshop I was responsible for development and maintenance of the online Mapshop tomtom.com/maps/ and Home2 client Mapshop including the backend services to deliver content. Some figures for the TomTom mapshop:• Turnover of around Euro 80M with installed base of 10+ million users• Selling in 50 locals including Europe, USA, India, China and Australia,• Supporting 40 languages and 20 different currencies,• More than 200 different devices and introducing more than 20 device every year,• Every month new maps and map services are published,• Created a team of 25 team members with following expertise: requirements analyst, JAVA, GWT, HTML/CSS and Tridion CMS developers, testing for manual and automated testing, QA sign-off, SCRUM, deploy and release. This teams are responsible for delivery ‘end 2 end’ releases and deployments.The front-end team introduced a new platform based on GWT and used Tridion CMS. The back-end implemented a new service base architecture where we simplify the content publishing and deployment. The operational teamed worked closely with sales and marketing department and operational Techops team to set-up automated deployment and test processes.Main achievements are: • Building up the team from 6 developers and 2 testers to a team of 25 team member including near and off shore team members in India / Serbia.• Transforming the content deployment for mapshop releases from a development task to an operational process, using standard tooling Jira and wiki for structured release process• Introduced a new platform for the front-end and services for mapshop pages.• Focused to get the basics right by introducing and focusing on: continues integration development process, team wide design and code reviews, automate testing as much as possible and create can do mentality of getting things done on time at the required quality level.

Employed as Technical Manager of the M2M business line at Chess. As a member of the management team of the business line responsible for strategic management, operations management, resource management handling escalations and send it to the agreed KPIs. This period also responsible for organizing Chess as a product development organization by processes such as release management, DSDM time boxing, configuration management, verification and validation, according to ITIL service management, production management procedures with AQL, FAI, CAR. In this period we include the following clients for projects realized: Pinlinq, Rabobank, Amsterdam Arena, American School, Public Works, Trans Link Systems.In this period we also developed a new payment terminal for the European market and a payment system for the Amsterdam Arena.

Employed as Program Manager of the M2M business line at Chess. As a member of the management team of the business line I was responsible for strategic management, operations management, resource management handling escalations and realize the agreed KPI’s. In this period I was also responsible for organizing Chess as a product development organization by processes such as release management, configuration management, verification and validation, according to ITIL service management, production management procedures with AQL, FMEA, CAR.My role involved managing the architects and project leaders and delivering the product at the right quality, on schedule and within prescribed budgets. The focus within Chess changed to payment solutions. To contribute to this change in focus I was responsible for the hiring and hiring staff and matching the personal growth of employees with this overall strategy. This team size was 25 people including developers, testers, project leaders and service managerIn this period we made products for the following clients: Pinlinq, Rabobank, Amsterdam Arena, American School, Public Works, Trans Link Systems.

Employed as project leader at Chess-eT for multidisciplinary projects. The tasks I performed were managing the customer contact, to realize the budget, planning and quality, reporting on progress to management and motivating the team. Customers in this period included: Océ, ASML, Geodelf, Irdeto, TSS. The techniques used in these projects include hardware design, FPGA / VHDL desing, system engineering, software design in various software languages (C, C + +, Java) and several operating systems as VxWorks, Windows, Linux, Solaris. By affinity with assembly, test and production for a number of products also responsible for the overall production.

Employed as a design engineer at Chess Engineering. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating and testing hardware and software designs.
