  My career began at Elmar Management in Detroit, where I rose from a trainee to a general manager. Elmar Managed: Dania Coin Laundry, Empress Theater, Family Theater, Hollywood Arcade, Mt. Clemens Drive-In, and the San Souci Apartments. I personally owned, leased, and managed the following businesses:• Theatre: My skills were instrumental in the Mt. Clemens Drive-In success. I managed all phases of the business, from employees to maintenance to buying products and paying the bills.• Concession: The Drive-In was built in 1950 and still had the original equipment. I remodeled the concession to cafeteria style, improved food quality with fewer employees, and tripled sales. I also updated the restrooms, building, and projection equipment.• Pool Store: I founded Aqua World, a company specializing in do-it-yourself residential vinyl liner swimming pool kits. Swimming pools are a fantastic way to beat the heat and enjoy some outdoor fun! Aqua World served as a primary structure, encompassing the following sister companies.• Chemicals: Maintaining a swimming pool is all about keeping the water crystal clear and safe for everyone to enjoy. My Aqua World staff and I had annual water chemistry certification from Sun Chemical Manufacturing. We sold chemicals and pool parts locally, including those used at Selfridge Air Force Base.• Fireplaces: Aqua World also sold wood burning stoves. With high efficiency and lower emissions, wood stoves offer an inviting way to heat your space, making those chilly evenings something to look forward to.• Arcade: Aqua World was a family-oriented business, so an arcade was also a logical addition. Thirty plus games in the Family Fun Center lobby entertained the entire family. From outdoor pool displays to round trampolines and more, Aqua World stood out on a busy street corner.I received a Showmanship Award from the National Theatre Owners Association, tributes from Sun Chemicals, and a U.S. Presidential Certificate of Appreciation.
