I strive every day to make an impact and here are just a few of my passions.1. I am deeply passionate about crafting and telling impactful stories. For each of the past 10 years, I have led a series of monthly storytelling classes for a year-long program for rising leaders in our Houston, Dallas, and Austin offices. I have also facilitated half-day and full-day storytelling workshops. Through this experience, I have seen first-hand and time and time again how becoming a masterful storyteller empowers professionals in terms of self-confidence and forging greater connections with clients, partners, and colleagues.2. I believe mentorship and coaching are my greatest strengths. Lucky for me, I also find both to be immensely rewarding. I relish the chance to help others further develop their potential. In addition to storytelling classes and one-on-one coaching, I have designed and taught professional development classes on a variety of topics, including “How to Approach Difficult Conversations, “From Client Caretaker to Client Confidant” and “Mastering Conversational Intelligence to be a Better Leader.” Now that we are working from home, I have rolled out a new series of classes focused on honing virtual skills such as team management, meeting leadership, and team presentations. 3. I am devoted to supporting the needs and missions of nonprofit organizations. I apply the power of storytelling to inform our designs for nonprofits. But, equally important, to enable the organizations to powerfully connect with stakeholders, potential donors, employees, and the community at large so that they can raise the funding they desperately need to continue to make a difference. I try to walk the talk by serving on nonprofit boards and chairing annual fundraising galas and auctions.4. I love brainstorming and problem-solving. I have a keen ability to listen and look at an issue with a 360-degree perspective. I think it is due in part to an undergraduate focus on one right answer and a graduate realization that there is rarely one way to look at something. 5. I know how to make things happen. I was raised by a father who was never afraid to try something new regardless of the obstacles. I enjoy new challenges-- coming up with a plan and assembling the resources and collaboration needed to drive the results I want.
