How did I start PR work? It was really by chance. My major was social welfare, but I did not want to become a social worker. There was a huge difference between what I learned in class and what happens in the field. Social workers in Korea work in the worst working conditions. It was difficult to endure the condition with only my passion. After graduating, I worked for the HR company. The job was boring. The boss was an unfunny person. Then one day, I noticed that one of my closest friends was working nearby. She was working for a PR company. Soon we were working in the same building, in another office. After hearing what she was doing, I went up several floors and applied to the PR agency. I started my career as a PR specialist.The start was a coincidence, but the driving force to keep working was not. At first, it was difficult to promote IT companies because I had no prior knowledge about IT or Tech. So for my first account, Adobe, I installed and used all Adobe products myself to explain to the reporters. I also visited user forums, attended a seminar and listened to presentations. As a result, I began to get a reputation as a person who understood the brands and products that I represented to reporters. I’ve enjoyed supporting a range of global companies such as Dolby, Huawei, Citrix, Oracle, NetApp, Microsoft, Red Hat, Wacom and Asus.I plan to continue developing my career in PR, inspired by the many people I meet.
