European Strategy Manager

RDAs played a strategic role in the delivery of 2000-2006 ERDF programmes. Yorkshire & Humber programme encompassed both Objective 1 and 2 status.This was a high profile, strategic role advising the YF Executive on the status of RDA funded regional projects with European investment. Directly responsible for day to day liaison with external funders (ERDF) and YF project managers to facilitate development of eligible projects. This required maintaining an overview of EU funding in YF strategic plans and advising on adjustments needed to maximise European funding opportunities. The National Strategic Reference framework consultation eventually led to the basis of the 2007-13 ERDF programmes. Executive support was provided to co-ordinate a regional response to the consultation. This led to YF taking a lead role in writing the new 2007-13 ERDF Programme document. My role involved support to the regional boards responsible providing a lead specialist role on governance and lead policy support in the area of sustainability.
