Pertamina (Persero) is an Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas enterprise and corporation with strong commitment in the development of both energy sector as well as renewable energy to sustain the national energy security and self-sufficiency. The internship specifically gave the opportunity for distinct individuals selected from hundreds of applicants to be a part of Pertamina's Sustainability Office and the entirety of the internship was overseen by E4SEA and USAID in support for women's participation and contribution in STEM.Activities:• Analyzed business and carbon market trends in order to devise strategic plans for the company's commitment towards environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects.• Identified gaps between the company's implemented targets and ratings given by various companies including MSCI and Sustainalytics to formulate strategies for improvement. • Socialized the company's progress and initiatives through an open discussion using an educational approach to both internal and external parties.

AGC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is one of the biggest glass supplier companies in the world that aims to provide a consistent line of products and service, and in doing so requires a framework suitable in their markets as well as in alignment with environmental advocacy, including the green movement. The internship was a specific training for the intern to learn in-depth regarding strategic planning and business development in the industry with regards to green building policies assessment in Indonesia.Activities:• Reviewed policies and regulations on green building in Indonesia.• Proposed business strategies related to green building for the company to implement in Indonesia.• Highlighted specific roles the public and private sectors of the glass industry can play in levelling‑up green building assessment in Indonesia.

As an obligatory course, the student internship was taken as a part of the field work course as a graduation requirement for environmental engineering study program in Bandung Institute of Technology. During the course of the internship, the main tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluating documents on environmental management and efforts submitted by various companies in Jakarta City to the Environmental Agency as well as conducting field observations to ensure synergy and follow-through of environmental regulations and policies.Activities:• Inspected various sites in Central Jakarta to monitor compliance with local, state and federal regulations as well as operating procedures.• Assisted in reviewing Environmental Management and Protection Efforts (UKL‑UPL) according to policies and procedures.

An international project of collaboration between Bandung Institute of Technology, Griffith University and International Water Center, as well as Udayana University that resulted in the production of two papers, many guidelines and reports on frameworks for inclusive WASH-at-work.Activities:• Edited, reviewed and translated reports of frameworks for inclusive WASH‑at‑work.• Executed international workshops to promote socialization of the project to the public by extending invitations to more than 100 national stakeholders and international organizations.
