Scatr is a Toronto-based start-up and a leading provider of next-generation drug checking systems for public health use. The cutting edge detection systems help ensure the safety and well-being of community by identifying harmful substances and preventing overdoses.• Responsible for all aspects of the lab operations such as labelling and storing received samples from drug checking sites in Ontario, analyzing samples for customers, documentation, making reports.• Performing Raman spectroscopy, HPLC-MS, and HPLC-DAD for fast qualification and quantification of opioid drugs. • Conducted HPLC-MS analysis such as assay, Identity, Stability, profiling test to create our own mass spectrometry library of excipient and drugs as well as analytical method validation.• Generating the Raman database for fillers and controlled substances and analyzing narcotic drugs.• Optimizing and benchmarking the Scatr Raman spectrometry system.• Calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Agilent HPLC-MS.• Writing and development of standard operating practices (SOPs).

ESI-MS has opened up new avenues, from fundamental biophysics to applications in the biopharmaceutical industry; however, the question of how exactly analytes are transferred from solution into the gas phase still remains contentious. In my PhD I tried to shed some light on the mechanisms whereby gaseous analyte ions are formed from highly charged ESI nanodroplets.• Carried out cutting-edge research on proteins and peptides in the field of analytical and physical chemistry for the development of fundamental MS practices.• Investigated protein aggregation, enzymatic activity, and behavior in solution and the gas phase using mass spectrometry (MS)-based techniques• Method development and validation for fundamental studies on proteins and peptides• • Successfully designed and conducted experiments to test hypotheses on proteins behavior using MS (ESI-MS, IMS, MSn, etc.) and protein characterization techniques (UV-Vis, DLS, CD spectrometry, peptide mapping, etc.) and molecular dynamic simulations • Calibration and troubleshooting of a Waters Synapt G2 QTOF. • Presented and published research findings in world class conferences and journals• Guided and advised junior members of the research group on experimental protocols. Achievements: • Published 4 papers in highly regarded journals in the field of chemistry.• Presented research results at 7 major industrial and scientific conferences in Canada.

I was responsible for analyzing food and environmental samples for clients using different techniques such as FAAS, GC-MS, ICP-MS.I also had collaboration on surface functionalization of nanoparticles with β-Cyclodextrin, and to improve absorption capacity of the nanoparticles. This sorbent used for preconcentration and extraction of lead and cadmium from different water and food samples.Achievements• Kept detailed records of all experiments, collected data and completed report summary.
