With over 9 years of work experience in the fields of arts education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), I am a passionate and creative Outreach Manager at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in our Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion. My core competencies include facilitating and supporting DEI-based events and initiatives, assisted the development and execution institution-wide DEI audit and strategic plan, developing and delivering equity-based curricula, and mentoring and engaging students and employees from diverse backgrounds and identities. I bring a diverse perspective and experience to the team as an educator, and DEI advocate, and I am always eager to learn new skills and collaborate with others.In my current role as Outreach Manager for the Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion (OIEI), I lead the facilitation and support of 34 DEI-based student and department led co-curricular events on campus over 3 semesters, through student group and individual mentorship, event fund processing, and employee volunteer recruitment. I also facilitate equity-based initiatives for all college offices, assisting subject matter experts across 4 committees, 2 working groups, and 22 professional development workshops. I work closely with 62 academic and administrative offices, developing relationships with chairs, directors, faculty, and staff to ensure ease of communication and collaboration. Some of the skills that I use and develop in this role are strategic communication and development, external partnership management, leadership development, curriculum design, public speaking, attention to detail, and college recruiting.
