I founded DynamOcean in 2010 to provide advanced metocean surveys and studies of current, waves and wind. I enjoy combining field work to have a hands-on experience of our complex physical environment, R&D work to maintain an in-depth understanding of the physical processes involved and operational oceanographic analysis and characterisation to support demanding industries.I have specific R&D interests in (i) turbulence in marine and river currents, (ii) wave-current interactions and (iii) wave-turbulence separation. I particularly like pushing the working envelope of the oceanographic instruments and developing advanced analysis methods and tools in order to support the marine renewable industry and its challenges. My previous experiences included working as a hydrodynamicist with Orbital Marine Power, a leading tidal turbine developer. There I built on my oceanographic and hydrodynamic skills with direct application to the design and testing of marine renewables devices. I also worked at the European Marine Energy Centre as Oceanographer where I was responsible for the measurement and analysis of waves, current and wind data to support the design and testing of the marine renewable devices.
