Founded in 2016, Car IQ is a fleet payment solution that eliminates the credit card by securely and autonomously connecting vehicles to merchants.

* Leading a team of ~20 technicians responsible for calibrating high accuracy measuring instruments (RF, Electrical, and Mechanical) used at Portuguese Air Force squadrons (e.g. F-16, EH-101, P3).* Improved efficiency of production by automating calibration procedures and extending technicians qualifications to meet the goal of ~3000 calibrations/year while facing a mandated 16% air force staff reduction;* Implemented metrics to assess lab’s performance and implemented a scheduling heuristics to minimize average backlog and service times subject to users priority, expedition deadlines, and order of arrival. * Migrated a legacy calibration and asset management system to a web-based architecture using MET/TEAM®, SQL Server®, and Crystal Reports®, improving data consistency, flexibility, scalability, production analysis, tracking and reporting.

* Redesigned and taught the classes of Telecommunications; Avionic Systems; Digital Systems and Microprocessors;* Proposed and actively participated on the research projects PITVANT - Research Project on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) (MoD funded) and Seagull - Unmanned Maritime Systems (QREN funded);* Advised master students from the PoAF Academy and interns from Écoles d'officiers de l'Armée de l'air;* Developed a full software stack for the Portuguese Air Force Unmanned Aerial System using ROS and GNU/Linux OS;* Integrated on-board systems (autopilot, Electro-Optic sensors, and embedded computers);* Developed REST webservices and high-level UAV controllers using Java, Scala, Python and C++;* Developed a robotics software stack for at real-world maritime monitoring system [video];

Assisted Professor Raja Sengupta in his class on Control and Information Management (CE290I) in the area of design of programming languages (syntax and semantics).

Collaboration work under the memorandum of understanding between the Portuguese Air Force Academy and the School of Engineering of Porto University. The main objective of this collaboration was focused on the operational deployment of Unmanned Air Vehicles. This collaboration preceded the PITVANT project.

I worked at the Mozambique Military Academy at Nampula as a consultant and a teacher. The project was under the memorandum of understanding between the Portuguese Air Force Academy and the Military Academy of Mozambique and consisted at designing the curriculum of the Pilot degree in the areas of telecommunications, informatics and avionics. I also got the opportunity to teach a short course on Microprocessors for the local students. The whole project was splited into two visits each with a duration of approximately 1.5 months.

I worked as a National Coordinator for the European Defence Agency Captech GEM4 - Guidance and Control. My job required to coordinate research activities between the Portuguese Ministry of Defence, and all the participants of the EDA GEM4 forum, including academia and industry.

I developed a load-balancing algorithm for teams of UAVs based on dynamic programming and mixed-initiative interactions. This work was performed under the advise of Prof. Raja Sengupta from UCB and Prof. Joao Sousa from FEUP. The main results contributed for my master thesis "Cooperative Control of Teams of Unmanned Air Vehicles".

During my summership at C3UV I development of a webservice for publishing tasks two a network of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles through web. The webservice served as an Application Programmable Interface (API) for the Collaborative Sensing Language. The webservise was implemented over the SOAP protocol.
