Reporting to the Director of Talent, Leadership and Culture, the UK Head of Early Careers role shapes the way the Thales UK Business attracts, selects, develops and retains a key pipeline of emerging external and internal early careers talent. Responsible for leading the Early Careers team and undertaking the product owner role for the Early Careers agile working backlog, working within an Agile project management framework.Sourced, reviewed and selected a number of technology platforms such as Arctic Shores, TopScore and Connectr to leverage technology into the attraction and selection processes, creating efficiencies and reducing cost, whilst ensuring a better candidate experience, improved quality of hires, increased diversity of candidate and a reduction in reneged offers. Platform successes ensured this was invested in and implemented by the wider UK TA Function.Leadership and management of a team of five early careers professionals, providing day-to-day line management and professional development that has seen the capability and remit of the team grow substantially over the past three years.Early Careers Subject Matter Expert; Guest speaker and panellist at a number of internal and external Early Career events, discussing Thales’ approach to Early Careers attraction and future direction of the industry. Attending events such as University STEM and Career Fair events and events such as those on behalf of the Institute of Student Employers, to speak passionately about the Early Careers brand and the benefits of a strong Early Careers pipeline. Early Career Process improvement; significant improvement in attraction numbers from 2000 to 4000 applications, reduction in reneged offers and improved candidate feedback.
