I’m El, a design student at Georgia Tech with a passion for participatory design.Designers are always forgetting people, whether it’s bandaids that only color match to light skin, doors that are uncomfortably heavy for most AFAB people to open, or transit systems that are only navigable for sighted people.That’s why I love participatory design! When we approach design as a collaboration rather than a one-way service, we hear stories we’d miss out on otherwise, we make products built on community strengths, and we see our end users proud to adopt the solutions they helped create.
