I am a researcher and later promoted as consultant at Limewing Talents, a professional platform where we help great foreign talents get suitable,nice and well-paid positions available in China, mainly in Education area. My daily work is to find, evaluate and refer suitable candidates to international and bilingual schools we cooperate with all around China. As an application counselor, my job was to help my students successfully get the offers of their dream and target schools. Usually, we apply for high schools and universities (undergraduate freshmen or transfers) in the USA, UK, Australia, sometimes Canada and Ireland. Throughout the whole preparation time, we would make specific and suitable plans for the next steps; recommend, introduce and, most importantly, encourage students to explore and find the target schools that are the best matched with their GPA, SAT TOEFL/IELTS scores, academic interests, life aim, career goal, philosophy and so on. Then, we help students brainstorm the application essays and prepare other application materials as well. The guidance we offer during the application is also the time we witness how students meet their true selves. The brainstorming session is always touching and thought provoking. I find the job rewarding and meaningful, as it can help others find out and being the way that they truly are and honestly wish to be.
