I care about being a part of creating meaningful social change. My specific areas of interest are in young people's mental health, disability advocacy, youth voice & participation, and inclusivity in our Education System. At the age of 15 I started a community initiative in East London called 'Spreading Kindness Through E11', which supported those in need locally and aimed to bring people together through the power of small thoughtful acts. At the same time, I began leading my own presentations within East London schools to promote anti-bullying and positive mental health for young people. Using my personal story of experiencing both bullying and mental health challenges growing up, I've felt a responsibility to share my story to support others who are struggling.I have sat on many youth advisory boards for charities close to my heart, which can be found below. Years of volutneering with organisations allowed me to progress to paid roles as I have become a reliable, passionate, and most importantly, trusted member of their communities. Current roles include being a Young Advisor at The Diana Award, and the Agents of Change Programme Manager at Flamingo Chicks. Since graduating from my undergraduate degree in Education, Culture and Society at Goldsmiths, University of London, I have worked freelance for a number of different companies, including charities and coordinating community outreach programmes for local businesses, which I thoroughly enjoy.I have been involved in all the areas I work in for 8 years, which shows my drive, determination and commitment to serving the causes I care about and allows me to work with a breadth of knowledge and experience behind me.I am currently building my own business to develop my public speaking platform, so I'd be interested to hear from anyone who would like to chat further about this.I am also most active on Instagram - @elsa_arnold - which I would encourage you to follow if you're interested in more reliable regular updates (LinkedIn is still a learning process....!)See more of my experiences below.22 years old.
