Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Library and Media Instructor is responsible for the daily operations of the school’s Library Media Centers across all sites and supports students, faculty and administration in the school’s educational mission.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPart of the Multi-Tier Support System (MTSS) team to plan, implement and reflect on how to best bring MTSS at the school. Collaborates with teachers on curriculum, technology use, teaching research, reading programs, etc.,Orders library supplies and age-appropriate library materials that support teachers’ curriculum and promote lifelong learning and the joy of reading,Maintains the library budgets for all library sites,Develops and maintaining library policies,Finds and shares with the community appropriate resources,Remains current in professional practices and developments, technologies and educational research, Advocates for the school library program, intellectual freedom, and the ethical use of information to the entire community,Promotes a love of reading and lifelong learning,Creates and promotes a collection full of diverse viewpoints and genres,Trains, supervises and collaborates with library staff from all sites,Trains and supervises volunteers and student aides, Assists patrons finding materials and information, Maintains the circulation system (catalog, collection and tech cart calendars), Assists patrons in the use of computers, troubleshoots technical problems, and reports and arranges for repairs,Performs and maintains a continuous inventory of library media materials and equipment, ensuring they stay current and relevant,Repairs books and disposes of damaged or outdated materials,Manages the Library Media Center’s daily schedule and calendar process,Provides an organized, appealing, and user-friendly library media environment,Applies the vision and mission of Natomas Charter School and models the Five Traits of NCS Professionals.

One of 2 representatives for the California School Library Association, I help providing networking, professional development, social, and other events regionally, as well as connecting current members with the CSLA NR board, and encourage other school library professionals to become members. I also manage the CSLA Facebook page, to post news about the Northern Region.I represent the counties: Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Yolo and Yuba.

Circulation desk and shelving, during the pre-K and K-1 morning, where turn-over is high and schedule is tight (5 classes back to back). During the Annual Scholastic Book Fair, handling the cash register during rush hour, and packing unsold books at the end of the Fair.

*teaching immersion and French classes, with students spanning pre-K to K-12 grades, and with fluency levels from beginners to advanced learners. *creating “manipulatives” based on the Montessori Method.

*teaching French classes for beginners to intermediate learners, using global simulations and hands-on projects. *co-advising to the ASU French club “Le Cercle Français” *establishing objectives and evaluation criteria, and reviewing work*member of the International Friendship Association, helping with all events involving international students and American students interested in foreign cultures.

*assisting teachers in developing lesson plans, tests, and exercises and with discipline, in 9th grade French language arts, 9th grade French culture, and 8th grade Social Studies classes.

*personally in charge of the ordering, the organizing and the sending of hundreds of books ordered by the four K-12, Lycées français (New York City and Washington, DC). *handling the Accounts Payable: running weekly and monthly ledgers, reconciling invoices, records filing and maintenance, and cutting checks.
