Joined the U.S Experiential Marketing team at Rapid7, based out of the headquarters in Boston, MA. I was involved in many aspects of the event production cycle, from budgeting, promotion and marketing, to production, content planning, show running, and event debrief and analysis. Host on Let's Get Lit, a WTBU radio show every Saturday from 4-6 PM. Every week, the show featured a different book/author and played a curated playlist of music inspired by the literature of the week. Discussions revolved around literary and historical analysis, paired with analysis of current societal, cultural, and political trends related to the literature of the show.

I worked as seasonal holiday help at Tea Forte's retail location in Boston on Newbury Street. Tea Forte is a luxury tea retailer, and the establishment was very formal and professional. I quickly learned ingredients of 83 tea blends, various brewing techniques, and selling points of tea-ware for advising customers. I also upsold customers on tea brewing pieces and tea sets, and created rapport to deliver exceptional experiences.

I first worked as a cashier at Merrifield Garden Center, then moving on to a sales position outside in the annuals/perennials section. I memorized the layout of the nursery and individual sections, along with characteristics and classifications of several hundreds of different flowers, vegetables, and herbs, in order to help customers locate plants to fit their specific requirements.I also aided in translating for Spanish speaking coworkers navigating customer requests and for customers over the phone.Another aspect of my job was designing displays of pots, flowers, and signs for the store, showcasing my design skills and my eye for color, texture, and composition. Working at Merrifield improved my ability to sell products, my customer service, and my work ethic partnered with a positive attitude, as some days consisted mainly of watering plants in the sun during a heat spell.

I joined my high school’s award-winning student-run paper as a staff reporter my freshman year. Over the course of the next three years, I wrote over 100 articles, interviewed subjects, designed page layouts and infographics, edited other’s articles, and more. I was one of two Entertainment editors my junior year, focusing on pop culture, art, and music. My senior year I was the sole editor of the two-page Opinion spread, and also took on more responsibilities outside of my own section. In 2018, I was recognized in the Virginia High School League's state-wide competition for high school publications. I won second place for an infographic I designed illustrating several facts about gun violence in America. During that year, I also wrote a feature story on my own experience trying to purchase a gun as an 18 year old in Virginia.
