I am an undergraduate student looking to explore a career in a medical profession with a focus on chemistry. I have previously worked with elders in a senior center and volunteered in the memory department at the same clinic. Furthermore, I have job shadowed multiple medical professionals including a periodontist, an orthodontist, a cardiologist, and a psychiatrist. I am currently working on a computational chemistry research project with a focus on how life on prebiotic earth emerged. I am looking to gain an insight into the formation of fundamental organic molecules in a prebiotic atmosphere to acquire an understanding of how humans were assembled. The goal is to hopefully utilize these results in the future in the medical field. I will be giving a presentation on this topic in August 2022. After my exposure to different fields, I look forward to forming new connections and am hoping to gain some insight into a specific career direction.
