Senior Research Chemist
CurrentAs a Research Chemist at the Reference Laboratory for Drinking Water, I have played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of our water supply. My responsibilities encompass a wide array of analytical techniques and data analysis. I have expertly operated instruments such as GC/ECD/FID, GC/MS/MS, GC/NPD, GC (Purge&trap)/MS, GC/MS/MS, FT-IR, TOC (Total Organic Carbon Analyzer), TOX (Total Organic Halogen Analyzer), HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), and LC/MS/MS.My core duties have included the precise determination of pesticides, phenols, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and disinfection byproducts like THM’s (Trihalomethanes), HAA’s (Haloacetic Acids), EDB, DBCB, and herbicides in drinking water. I've also conducted assessments for Total Organic Carbon, Oil and Grease, as well as Total Petroleum and Hydrocarbons.Furthermore, my expertise extends to analyzing Total Organic Halogens in water and soil, as well as conducting essential wet chemistry analyses for both raw and drinking water samples. In compliance with Egyptian Regulations outlined in the Minister of Health ministerial decree No. 458:2007, I've meticulously prepared and analyzed reports and records, ensuring that our results consistently adhere to maximum permissible levels (MPLs).In addition to my analytical prowess, I have delved into data analysis within the field of water and its susceptibility to the effects of climate change. My commitment to safeguarding our water resources and ensuring their resilience in the face of environmental challenges defines my professional journey.
