Trading Risk Control Analyst • Responsible for preparing and analysing daily profit and loss for LNG & crude oil trading desks, including monitoring of positions against limits (i.e. interproduct, time & outright exposures, VaR etc.), explain PnL movements, mark-to-market, positions and value-at-risk (VaR)• Maintain and evaluate quantitative market data including price series (from brokers, 3rd parties and trader assessments), volatilities, correlations and volumes • Provide monthly analysis of gains & losses resulting from trading strategies employed by the desk• Ensure traders enter deals accurately and in a timely manner including commitments and exposures are entered in the trading system in line with the contract. • Develop suitable exposure measurement and reporting methodologies for new product and structured contract offerings• Provide validation of P&L including cost accruals & provisions, ensure forward parcels are appropriately valued and provide input into quarterly financial close processes and annual disclosure requirements• Promote and ensure accurate reporting to external pricing agencies and daily entry of prices & exposure into the trading Notable Achievements• Created Complex LNG AP prices series (JKM based curve)• Implement 3 years outright monitoring & reporting for LNG by Short Term & mid Term portfolio book• Valuable contribution towards the success of the Repsol acquisition ($4.4 bil cash consideration with approximately 7.2 mtpa of LNG volumes enable further optimization within Shell’s existing world-wide customer base to realise trading synergies and add value to acquired LNG portfolio)
