The QSE department was responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS). I specifically supported the Manufacturing, Quality Testing and Production Technology teams in Europe. The responsibilities included:• Support the teams with document management (MyDoc), process management, risk management, management review and following up on non-conformities (CAPA in GIMS).• Maintaining internal and external accreditations and certifications (ISO 9001, GSPP, ISTA, NAL, ESTA, Organic, Non-GMO IP), including scheduling and coordinating internal and external audits and conduction internal audits as a lead auditor.• Identify continuous improvement and process optimization opportunities, involvement in the related management of change.• Training of employees for the different tasks and systems used to maintain the QMS.For my work on the implementation of the new product line of organic vegetable seeds (2021), I received a Bayer Star Award. I was responsible for obtaining the right certifications. I had contact with the certifying bodies regarding the interpretation of regulations for our products. I ensured the correct application of these rules within our processes and accurate documentation. In the third year after certification, the revenue from the organic products already exceeded half a million euros.

Within the Seed Technology department, I was focussing on research for optimizing existing and developing new washing and sanitation processes. This included the following responsibilities:• Leading research projects related to reducing, removing and/or killing unwanted micro-organisms on seeds with minimal impact on germination quality.• Leading the global working group on Sanitation Protocol Alignment to harmonize washing and sanitation, keeping in mind the local situation and rules and regulations.• Gathering project ideas from stakeholders and investigating their potential based on available data and estimation of possible savings.QMS tech for EMEA Production Research and Seed Technology departments, including assisting in Management Review of Global Veg Production Research.Internal QMS auditor.Member of the Monsanto Holland Works Council from December 2010 to December 2013.Performed field inspections between June 2012 and May 2013 due to a shortage of Field Pathologists.Achievement: I developed a protocol for tomato seeds where all agents are applied consecutively in the country of production, instead of partly in the receiving country. The effectiveness was as good as with the old protocols, and the impact on germination was reduced. I remotely supported the implementation of this protocol in Thailand and Peru. As a result, the lead time reduced with approximately 3 weeks and a cost saving of around 100,000 euros per year.

I was responsible for making data and risk driven decisions to guarantee good quality seeds for the North West European market. Additional responsibilities included:• Customer complaint handling.• Manufacturing representative on the Regional Crop Team Pepper and Eggplant.• Internal QMS auditor.

The QIC team was responsible for extracting and combining data from various systems for different departments, based on which decisions were taken and strategies were determined. This included:• Putting together data for the yearly Production Area Analysis meetings in EMEA.• Manufacturing representative on the Global Brassica Species Team.• Assisting in complaint handling.• Internal NAL auditor.

I was independently conducting 2 experiments related to the effectiveness of entomopathogenic nematodes against Black Vine Weevil at low temperatures. In addition, I was responsible for maintaining the Black Vine Weevil population in the lab.
