I am a senior Leader in government with over 32 years experience having started my career as a Project Manager / Civil engineer having worked across State and Local Government, Consulting, and corporate Board experience as a non- Executive Director.I have been involved with the successful strategy, planning and delivery of large and small multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects including roads, stormwater, sewerage, water supply, treatment facilities, dams and landfill sites, including working with of a range of environmental, mechanical, geotechnical, electrical, planning, economists, GIS, design drafting, survey, ICT and other specialists.Specific skills include:- strategic planning, concept optioneering, and risk management - asset management, condition assessment, NPV analysis, operational and maintenance planning- IT system upgrades including stream lead, planning and delivery - project management and financial management,- Consultant and Contractor management,- development assessment of large scale infrastructure, subdivision and commercial developments,- detailed design, and safety in design assessment,- Superintendent and Superintendent's Representative roles, tender documentation, and tender assessment- planning and environmental approvals,- significant stakeholder and public consultation,- working on secondment with a range of organisations to build and retain corporate knowledge.My passion is for strategic planning and design of sustainable infrastructure that benefits society for the long term. This professional passion also supports my vision to use my skills to support disadvantaged communities across Australia, as well as international aid in developing countries. I do this by supporting WASH programs, and being involved with organisations including Engineers Without Borders.I am also passionate about enhancing the engineering profession and supporting the next generation of engineers and other STEM professions, and do this by being on a range of professional committees, and judging events like the Science and Engineering Challenge.
