Els Vanheusden, holds a Medical Doctor degree from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and 2 Master's Degrees in Hospital Management and Aeronautical & Space Medicine. In 1991 she started a typical marketing career at Procter & Gamble where she was involved in the set-up of the pharmaceutical division and the creation of the Benelux osteoporosis markets. In 1997 she became responsible for European marketing at Biosense Webster, a Johnson &Johnson med tech company leading the field in electrophysiology.Dec. 2000 onwards, Els became active in the Belgian spin-off environment: as CEO of medical biotech companies, as General Manager of FlandersBio, and as co-founder of the €42M Capricorn Health-tech Fund. Els has been coaching several young life sciences start-ups, as well as the laureate projects of the Fondation Fournier-Majoie.As of 2015 Els joined the care sector, first as Managing Director of In4care and currently as General Manager of Multiversum (group). Multiversum originated from the merger between PC Brothers Alexianen in Boechout and PC Saint Amedeus in Mortsel.
