Business Pilot allows installers to sufficiently manage every part of their business from lead generation through sales, operations, finance and after care.My role in Business Pilot came from work I had been carrying out with a Window and Door installation company. They had been using a very old industry specific system. My work was to identify issues in their digital marketing. Once that had been done (and Urban Media had doubled their sales enquiries), attention turned to how they managed the increased level of enquiries. This is where their old system was letting them down. I encouraged the owners to create the 'dream system' that didn't look at what was available, but what could be possible. Business Pilot was the result.It wasn't long before we saw just how beneficial the system was for its users. Seeing how our system was able to enable installers to literally transform their own businesses just drove us further.My role is to set the vision and strategy for the business. I lead the team to continually improve the system by focusing on being user led (customer centricity). I drive a culture of continual improvement in ideas, development, support and customer focus. This is based on allowing our users and the team to 'dream' of what could be possible, and then ensuring we deliver it. Out of the 10 global issues, I have selected Racism, Poverty and the Education system as my preferred issues to tackle.RacismI care deeply about any discrimination (Age, Gender, Race, Sexuality, Wealth etc.). However, I also see well meaning people creating more divide than unity because its the only way they know. I would love to be part of creating ‘actual’ change here, to create a world where we all benefitted from each other’s differences (viewpoints & experiences), without the need to discriminate because of them.PovertyWhen I started my first business, I was a young dad (24). I had two children and zero income. We lived on a charity bread run from the local bakery so it was often beans on toast or just toast. However, I didn’t see myself as poor. I certainly wouldn’t call that level ‘poverty’, I think ending poverty is not only about providing opportunity.Education SystemI believe a lot of issues stem from this one. I saw with my own children (3 in the end!) Just how much influence they got from school vs parents! Yet, schools don’t teach mindset, money, values and many other key skills for life. When I was at school, we were taught that you had to get a job (no dreamers). When my kids were at school, they were taught they could be anything they wanted, but not told about the cost and how they would need to achieve their dreams. I believe both approaches were wrong and we should be teaching our next generations that anything is possible. Then also teaching them what they will need to make it possible.
