- Lead and supervised a team of 32 DBAs across APAC region including Malaysia, Japan, China and Hong Kong. Team comprises of DBAs from different databases technologies including Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 and Sybase.- Worked with DBA managers and teams in other regions providing 24/7 database support to all AIG databases globally, ensuring all databases are always available, secured, and optimized to meet business needs.- Intensive practice of ITIL management using Service-now application to document and track incidents, problems and database changes. - Managed end to end escalations and resolutions to database related problems and incidents. Ensured the database team services always meet the Service Level Agreement (SLA).- Continuously improving the team performance by managing the team’s performance review on a timely basis. Planned and managed team technical and non-technical training schedule and budget to make sure the team is always up to date with the required skills and not compromising the support availability. - Coordinated with various engineering team and provided solutions from database perspective, then proceed to install, setup, and support databases for new projects.- Maintained standards on database administration and installation / recovery processes.- Managed software contracts and licenses.- Managed and maintained good relationship with APAC business clients and vendors.- Frequently travelled and worked on site at AIG Global Services Data Center in USA and China for global projects.

- Worked with a team of 7 DBAs, including on-site (Livingston, New Jersey) and off-shore team (KL, Malaysia), providing 24x7 “follow the sun” support to AIG business users primarily in U.S.A., Europe and Japan.- Installation, setup, tuning, and maintenance of over 150 Oracle databases in various environments as below: - Database version: 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g. - O/S: Sun Solaris, Linux, Microsoft Windows Servers. - Cluster: Oracle RAC. - Storage: Oracle ASM. - Disaster Recovery: Physical and Logical Standby databases. - Monitoring tool: OEM (Web base), OEM (Java base), Toad for Oracle. - Performance monitoring: OEM, Statspack reports, AWR, ADDM. - Backup: Autosys, Export, Export Datapump, Hot/Cold backup, Rman.- Responsible for optimization, capacity-planning, and performance fine tuning of the database.- Maintained database availability by carrying out well planned backup strategies, build and monitor standby database (Data Guard).- Updated Oracle binaries and patching in a timely manner.- Troubleshooting ORA errors, lodging SRs on Oracle Metalink for complicated Oracle issues.- Coordinated with several engineering team to perform Disaster Recovery exercises for production databases annually.- Prepared training plan and provided in house training to Junior System Engineer.
