At Dold Industrial Automation Ltd., my main job is to design and develop new SSR (Solid State Relay) products while also keeping updated old products. This includes designing the product mechanically using 3D software and simulations, designing the control circuitry, and if product intelligence is required microprocessor programming will be included. Our products range from 0Amps up to 150Amps with load voltages of 110VAC, 230VAC, 415VAC, and 600VAC. As regards functions, some of our products include simple ON/OFF, reversing, load monitoring, current monitoring, peak switching, adaptive switching, burst switching, independent pole switching, and more. Each day is different from all the previous days and this makes my work interesting and makes me look forward to tomorrow to see what the new day will bring.As new and old products need to be tested and qualified my job also includes the design of the relevant test equipment for the testing of each product. These could be small fully manual jigs to completely automated test equipment. I.T. administration is also part of my daily jobs and I make sure that the servers and all clients are working in good condition as regards hardware and software. This entails keeping up to date with the main server running on Small Business Server 2008 in a virtualization environment together with another server running SQL Server, other application servers, and also around 40 clients. "Time is what you make it!", and here at Dold Industrial Automation Ltd., I have been given the opportunity and support to do various jobs in the various fields of Engineering which have fulfilled my dream from a young age to become an Engineer!

During my work experience at STMicroelectronics I was involved in networking various types of test equipment and production equipment. The aim of this project was to collect data for statistical controls and process improvement. This was done using Unix as the back end and then interface both to Unix clients and to Windows clients. This was my first experience with Unix OS and I can say that I was impressed with the performance of such systems.Another project which I was involved in was the testing and improvement of a new encapsulant for a highly integrated CMOS VLSI sensor (VV6404). This was too interesting because I got first hand experience of such integrated circuits and the challenges one might encounter in the design of such ICs.

At Panta Lesco I was able to take a feel of the various of Engineering be it Electrical and Mechanical. The sections I worked in were the following ...Air conditioning, where I did all the necessary from installing units both commercial and residential, servicing and repairing. Lift installation and commissioning.Installation and commissioning of water treatment system in an industrial environment.Commissioning and fault finding in telephony systems.
