I joined the Navy in order to take advantage of their benefits of paying for college. In bootcamp because of my drive I was meritoriously promoted from an E1 to an E2. I continued my dedication to each mission and was awarded two Navy & Marine Corps Achievement medals, I was given the 2008 Sailor of the year award, and in 2009 was awarded the Army Achievement Medal. The Navy not only gave me the tools and opportunities to showcase my hard work and dedication it also gave me the chance to thrive as a leader, mentor & organizer. The skills obtained from my time as a Hospital Corpsman range from immunizations, record keeping, & obtaining vital signs to emergency field medicine, medical improvisation & mental therapy for the marines I took care of. These skills have carried on with me in every aspect of my life, from my widely different career paths to everyday life. After completing my obligations and obtaining an honorable discharge I continued in the medical field where I gained an Associates degree in Medical Assisting with a limited scope in X-Ray. While working to obtain my degree I was awarded the 2011 Student of the Year, this allowed for me to get into the field of Hemodialysis where I worked running and monitoring the treatments for dialysis patients. Through the American Nephrology Nuses' Association I was able to obtain my certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician. While working as a Patient Care Tech I was introduced to the Hemodialysis Machines and Reverse Osmosis Machines, I was able to get into some of the minor maintenance for each machine disinfecting and performing routine machine checks. After showing interest in the technical side and showing my dedication I was asked to join the Technical team at the Dialysis company. On the technical side of the company I was quickly promoted from the Machine Technician position to the Facility Technical Manager Position because of my outstanding performance. While working as an FTM I wanted to extend my knowledge of electronic devices so I enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program to obtain my degree in Engineering. While pursuing my degree I not only maintained a 3.6GPA I was also awarded multiple Dean's List Awards for my Commitment to excellence. I currently work for a fiberoptic Company as a Lead Fiber Technician where I have obtained splicing, testing and troubleshooting skills to maintain a fiberoptic Network. I am a firm believer in there being no task that cannot be accomplished by any individual, through hard work and dedication to the mission anyone can and will do anything!
