Apprenticeship programs at Starting Strength Gyms are integrated into Starting Strength Gym operations. Apprentices train and coach at a gym as they complete the Coaching Prep Course based on the Moment Model of Barbell Training.

Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities for assigned functional area which includes monitoring daily productivity/output by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); in partnership with management, defines resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to meet business objectives. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of inventory/merchandise movement by monitoring SIMS/AS-400 system applications. Monitors team members’ productivity and work quality, and manages performance using the tools available including progress summaries, retraining, job performance assessment, performance improvement plan and other disciplinary actions as needed. Ensures compliance with all safety programs and ensures a strong culture of safety in their functional area.

Job responsibilities included registered sales on assigned cash register, provided customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service. Kept counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, took inventory, and maintained records. Checked in and price merchandise as required or as directed by store manager or communicated by the shift leader.

Provided courteous service, suggested promotional products, maintained cleanliness and inventory, priced merchandise, implemented asset protection procedures, ensured legal compliance for regulated products, constructed and maintained displays, and assisted with web pick-up orders.

Greeted customers, offered assistance, and identified customer needs. Provided expertise in product demonstrations, lead in-store events, built customer relationships, and used omni-channel solutions. Assisted customers, modeled excellent customer care, reviewed performance, and implemented improvement goals.
