I did a TEDx talk at Northwestern in 2015 which started me on a path to the podcast and creative thinking as a profession. Production of the podcast is the culmination of many years of investing in various forms of creativity. I write, perform, engineer, and create all the design work (image/website/video). The reason I choose to do it all myself is I’ve become a creative flow junkie; the podcast is my current mainline and labor of love. I’m also a part-time, gigging musician (as a hobby, not as a pro). And while I spend a lot of time thinking about philosophy, psychology and the applied practice of both in order to create the podcast, I’m not a pro these areas either. Professional hack? No judging. The Evolve Faster Podcast is a semi-serial, high production-quality show aiming to bridge the treacherous gap between education and entertainment. It is also my creative laboratory to think, write and experiment with big ideas (like consciousness and artificial intelligence), life’s complexities (like human nature and society) and with wielding intellectual weapons (like philosophy and psychology) to tackle the big questions of life. For the last two decades, I’ve been creating businesses, primarily online startups and real estate investments. As a founder of LaunchVibe (a graduate of the Founder Institute incubator) we created unique crowdfunding aggregation platform integrating all styles of online fundraising into one place. The proprietary technology behind the platform was sold and the brand dissolved. I’ve also developed over a dozen real estate private equity investments with expertise in complex entitlement and raw land development. Several of these endured through the 2008 financial debacle, one of the worst real estate collapses in the last century. All investments were exited with battle scars but an overall successful track record.

Education was engineering undergrad at University of Illinois (Urbana), and a Masters in Business/IT from Kellogg/McCormick at Northwestern. Next, I had several corporate gigs (MCI, HP, Technium) and startups adventures (Bluestone Software, DataDistilleries) selling software for about a decade.

Many of my best work and life experiences happened abroad; I’ve lived/worked in 70+ countries. Challenging travel rewires your brain. Yet my best life lessons have come as a father to my little firecracker. Our recent adventure (2017-2018) was a family around-the-world trip to 25 countries over 12 months...all before she turned two.
