After having children of my own, I was offered a job within the childcare industry working in administration, this allowed me to be present in my children’s lives and provide for my family. I enjoyed my change in rood from working closely with the children to more hands on with the families as a whole. My hands on experience working with the children and staff meant that I could easily show future families through the centres and explain our policies and procedures with ease. Building relationships with the families, learning the booking and billing systems and setting up special events for the centre were among my favourite duties as administrative assistant.

When I started at Jacaranda Childcare i was an assistant in the Babies room (0 to 12 months). My jobs included General Cleaning duties, assisting with changing, feeding and activity set ups. I also organised mat sessions including story time, drama and sing a long time.I transitioned into the toddler room once I had completed my training in early childhood studies gaining my cert III. I continued my training to gain my Diploma and its at this point I took over In the nursery. I was accountable for all programming, room set up and I also built a lasting relationship with the parents in order to give the children the best combined childcare and education,catering to each childs individual needs.

At the age of 14 I started working at Target, first starting on checkouts and quickly being promoted to working in the lay by department. Working in customer service has always been where my strengths lie, it was a wonderful introduction to the working world.
