Working closely with the Building and Engineering Department, I reviewed building permits and occupancy applications for zoning compliance. I served as a staff liason to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), Plan Commission, and Economic Development Commission. All three commissions required staff support including prepared reports and presentations. For ZBA, I prepared zoning code text amendments as well as reports on zoning changes, conditional use permits, variances, and appeals.I wrote portions of several state grant applications for funding of infrastructure and planning projects. In addition, I gained a thorough understanding of economic development tools and principals.
