My role as a training consultant at Miyagi is complete different steps in instructional design in order to create training activities of any kind. Although we can work with any subject or context, Miyagi has extensive experience in creating training activities for enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations to ensure maximum productivity from the users once the implementation is completed. After implementing videoconferencing as a training tool a little over two years ago, Bell Canada decided to hire an intern from the educational technology master’s program within the context of a 675-hour internship. The mandate was threefold. First, investigate all the functions of the videoconferencing system to maximize its use. Second, suggest solutions for learning and performance adapted to the virtual classroom. And third, implement an action plan which objectives were to help facilitators be more dynamic when giving a course via videoconferencing, and to provide instructional designers with the skills and knowledge to create material more suited to this medium.
