I am the author of the book "Jewelry and Metalwork in the Arts & Crafts Tradition", co-author of "Imperishable Beauty: Art Nouveau Jewelry" and author of the catalogues "International Art Jewelry, 1895-1925" and "Out of this World! Jewelry in the Space Age." I lecture and teach jewelry history in addition to my activities as co-director of ASJRA, co-director of its annual conference and being publisher/Executive Editor of Adornment, The Magazine of Jewelry & Related Arts. I was the guest curator for "Jewelers of the Hudson Valley" at The Forbes Galleries, NYC April-June, 2011, "International Art Jewelry: 1895-1925" at the Forbes Galleries from October 2011-March 2012, "Finer Things: Jewelry and Accessories from the 1880s-1930s" at Stan Hywet House & Gardens, Akron, Ohio, April 1-October 7, 2012 and guest curator for "Out of this World! Jewelry in the Space Age" from March 16-September 7, 2013 at The Forbes Galleries which traveled to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in June 2015. "Out of this World! Jewelry in the Space Age" will travel to the Tellus Science Museum, Cartersville, GA in November 2020. I curated "Maker and Muse: Women & Early 20th Century Art Jewelry" which opened February 14, 2015 at the Richard H. Driehaus Museum in Chicago and is now traveling to a number ofl venues throughout the country. I also edited and wrote two chapters for the book that accompanies the exhibition. I am a co-producer of "A Story to Wear: A Jewelry History Documentary" now in development.Specialties: My area of specialty is writing and lecturing on jewelry of the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau movements and the jewelry of the American First Ladies. I write and lecture on many other jewelry subjects as well. I also have an extensive background in marketing, editing, and public relations.
