Space news host, writer, STEAM educator, and NASA Solar System Ambassador based in NYC.With a passion for bringing history and science to life, I have created a number of educational programs on STEAM and history/science/space-related topics, and researched, written, and performed as numerous historical figures at museums across the country. Senior Costumed Interpreter / Program ProducerNew York Transit Museum Jun 2012 - Oct 2018Brooklyn, NyDeveloped, researched, wrote, and portrayed a number of engaging historical characters around NY State Learning Standards and primary sources, including one of the first female train conductors in 1917, a journalist headed to the 1964 World’s Fair, and a forward-thinking citizen-scientist who helped to solve the noise-pollution problem of New York’s elevated trains (with the help of her student visitors!) in 1878.Additionally wrote, directed and performed in a number of educational family shows on topics such as the very first pneumatic subway in NYC in 1870, the history of Grand Central Terminal, how the New York subway uses electricity (Time Warner Foundation grant recipient), the MTA’s Music Under New York Program, and even an Epic Rap Battle about weather preparedness and sustainability!Trained new performers and constructed costumes, sets, and props for all shows, as well as worked in conjunction with marketing and education staff to develop promotional/learning materials.
