About Elysia Pericak

I graduated from SUNY Brockport in May 2016 with my Masters Degree in Forensic Accounting. Prior to that, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Brockport in May 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a minor in Economics. During undergraduate studies I was part of the Honors College, held the positions of Honors Peer Mentor, Living Learning Community Peer Mentor, and Vice President of the Business School's Networking Club. My capstone project was a 60 page honors senior thesis about user interaction with AIS.Throughout my schooling and job opportunities I have acquired experience in a range of accounting programs, both old and new, as well as having a strong understanding of all the Microsoft Office Programs. I started my specialization in governmental accounting and auditing through a position with Drescher & Malecki LLP. From there I moved into the Bookkeeping and Budget Director position at the Town of Boston where I am responsible for all the town's financial reports.

Drafts the Tentative Budget for the Town and works with the Town Board on any changes until a final Adopted Budget is reached. Throughout the year I monitor the budget and variances between actual and expected revenues/expenditures, proposing budget amendments and transfers as needed.

Some major accomplishments completed during my tenure are the emergence of annual budget presentations, a Fund Balance policy, the development of a 5 year budget plan, a full re-assessment of Town-owned capital assets, and the initiation of an HR overhaul.
