The NER300 program aims to stimulate investments in large, innovative renewable energy and CCS projects. The EIB and CIE decided in December to award 199 million euros to WoodSpirit. The project is a market driven co-development of BioMCN, Siemens, Linde en Visser & Smit Hanab The ambition is to develop, build and operate a large scale biomass refinery for second generation biofules, next to the existing BioMCN plant in Delfzijl. The project will demonstrate the production of 2nd generation biofules on large commercial scale using biomass torrefaction and entrained flow gasification as the new core technologies. Public Affairs and Funding were conducted by EmpowerMi.
