My name is Elisabet Soffia Bender and I am a licenced tailor from the Technology College of Reykjavík and a recent graduate in BA fashion (specialising in design) from Leeds Art University. I am doing an MA in Digital fashion where I have been exploring the software CLO3D and Laser cutting. I aiming towards finishing my MA in July. I have since I was a little girl done figure skating and that woke my interest in fashion and creating garments. Along with figure skating, I did synchronised skating where I learned a different unique way of working with others and improving my individual skills on the side. I learned how to communicate with others. When I was 15 years old I then got the opportunity to start coaching figure skating and I undertook two general coaching seminars at ÍSÍ and a few seminars focusing on coaching figure skating. I am organised when it comes to my work and play and I am focused on the task that I take on. I am not afraid of going outside the box and I have a good eye for detail. If I feel like I don't understand something I am not afraid to ask and I am a fast learner with an excellent student mentality. I love learning new things and exploring every option that there is to offer. I have great pattern making skills that include, standard pattern making, creative pattern making and bespoke pattern making. I have good knowledge of industrial sewing machines (that includes, overlock, cover stitch, buttonholes and lock stitch). I feel the most creative in a studio environment and working on a stand. I have good Adobe software skills and just finished some extra training on LinkedIn Learning.I hope this tells you a bit more about me.
