My love of teaching and work in education started in 2007 in a tiny village called Boko, Bunju about two hours outside of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Since then, I traveled to Newark to teach 2nd grade with Teach for America and stayed on as an instructional lead. It was there that I discovered my love of instructional coaching and helping to develop strong teachers who can put their students on a new trajectory through building strong relationships with students, using data to drive their instruction, creating actionable goals for their students where they can see their success and reflecting on instructional practices that will keep their students engaged throughout the day.In 2014 I moved to Kenya and expanded my work in education to include education for employability and on the job success. I supported students at Spire Education to get the skills to get employed. I was the founding academic director at Nova Pioneer where I helped to develop the learning programme to focus on building the 21st century skills required to help students be successful in an ever changing world. In 2019 we founded the Kenyan branch of Education Design Unlimited where we focus on using a human centred design approach in research and product development.
