As a math teacher my philosophy goes on two tracks, educational and mathematical . Concerning the educational one, I am a teacher and an educator at the same time who wants to change the world but I realize that for every dream there are limitations. I know that education is where I could get the greatest influence. I want my students to know that the world they will inhabit, is not immutable. As a teacher, I can make a difference and their classrooms can have supportive environment in which the students can grow and learn. My students need the opportunity to collaborate with each others as well as with me to learn. My students must have the opportunity to take responsibilities to be life-long learners.The second track is teaching Mathematics. I base my teaching on the belief that the only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics. While the way of reading examples and proofs in textbooks is valuable, the real learning comes through one's own effort at solving mathematical problems. This is achieved mostly through class assignments but also through in-class discussion and exercises. I view my role as a facilitator for this process. I must design the framework in which learning can take place and then stimulate the students' development. I also try to help the students learn to think logically, learn problem solving strategies and techniques, and improve writing skills (writing clearly and concisely, explaining step by step processes, providing valid reasons for logical arguments). In addition, I try to help students see the course material in a holistic context by requiring them to synthesize the various concepts of the course by applying them together.
