  The Board on Human-Systems Integration (BOHSI) applies human factors, I/O psychology, and human-centered design principles to improve individual and organizational performance in a systems context. Since its inception in 1980, the Board’s work has provided federal government and philanthropic sponsors with policy advice based on human factors, human capital management, and human-systems integration approaches. Recent BOHSI work has addressed issues such as the cybersecurity workforce, strengthening human capital management, human-automation interaction considerations for unmanned aerial systems, human factors related to process safety and worker empowerment in the offshore oil industry, facilities staffing requirements, and aviation safety. The Board Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management and evaluation of all board activities.
