I have a Master Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Brescia, where I started my professional career in Geotechnics as a Temporary Research Fellow: during this period I had the opportunity to directly perform geotechnical laboratory tests (classification tests, direct shear tests, oedometric tests…) according to both Italian and international standards, and to follow research activity on a particular and innovative type of steel screw micropile.After this first experience I had the opportunity to work for the Technical Office of an Italian firm specialized in the realization of special foundation works (bored piles, CFA piles, micropiles, diaphragm walls, jet grouting), where I could approach great works and learn what’s behind the realization of geotechnical elements.Now I’m working for the geotechnical engineering firm “Studio Colleselli & P.”, where I’m specializing in geotechnical design. My activities include:- Design of shallow/deep foundations;- Design of retaining structures (non-tied or tied with multiple layers of anchors);- Evaluation of settlements of foundations/embankments/dams;- Evaluation of soil-structure interaction with Finite Element Analysis (Plaxis 2D);- Slope stability studies;- Site investigation planning;- Geotechnical characterization;- Seismic characterization and liquefaction analysis.You’ll never stop learning from Geotechnics, and that’s why I love it.
