Technical marketing of real-time based embedded software tools for Wind River Systems. The tools are composed of workbench and Board-Supported Packages (BSP) for number of processor architectures, such as PowerPC, and Intel XScale. The real-time OS are VxWorks, and RTLinux that are integrated on SBC (Single Board Computer) , in which various processor architectures are embedded. Moreover, debugging tools are integrated into these systems based on JTAG ports. Wind River tools can be applied for single/multi-core embedded hardware. The duties on this position was research on possible industry prospects, preparing demonstrations based on these systems, building industry relations, and setting up presentations upon the prepared demonstrations.

Research and development of memory hierarchy for hard real-time systems based on predictable processor architecture called PRET (Precision-Timed Machine). This architecture is designed in a way that reduces dynamic behavior of processor by depending on static timing analysis. The research concentrated on developing new memory allocation algorithm based on scratchpad memory using static timing analysis generated from timed automata of the target multi-threaded PRET-C program. PRET-C program is a C-like language with extended macros to handle PRET-based processor.

Research and development of a multi-threaded software for online trading application. The development was based on pthreads real-time library to handle multi-threading within Linux OS. The software was using TCP/IP protocol to communicate with number of trade exchange servers in order to send/receive data packets to/from the server. UDP protocol was used for multicasting purposes, in which message is sent to a network without error checking or handshaking, unlike TCP protocol. The developed software was based on C multi-threaded programming. The work involved modeling multiple threads using System-level design based on cycle-accurate modeling.

Testing and debugging embedded processors and Systems On-chip. Tracing the bugs within embedded system boards and fixing them. Analyze and evaluate the testing procedures based on on UART RS-232/485 serial communication. Testing the target boards (Windows CE installed) was composed of write/read data checking using serial communication, exposing the boards to different temperature, checking connected LCD screens, hardware debugging of different board components such as Reset, crystal oscillators

The work involved research and development of camera interface hardware with an FPGA. FireWire circuit and protocol driver has been developed to communicate two cameras with an FPGA for stereo matching algorithm. The skill on this work was composed of analyze different FPGA hardware that suit the communication protocol and stereo matching complexity, designing high speed PCB for FireWire communication protocol for video applications (~30 frame/second).
