I'm a graduate of Western Carolina University's Brinson Honor's College, with bachelors degrees in Forensic Chemistry and Criminal Justice. As an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to participate in research and present our findings on two subjects: the anti-bacterial properties of nanoparticles and the bio-remedial properties of peanut shells. For the latter topic, my research partner and I presented our findings at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research in addition to a local conference. I have also engaged in additional coursework to expand my skills in biochemistry, computer programming, and statistical analysis.I am currently employed in healthcare administration at a local behavioral health practice. In the coming years, I plan on attending graduate school for a degree in Biochemistry. My intention is to pursue a career in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology to engage in further research and development of effective medical treatments for mental health disorders.
