I managed Occupational Health and Safety for 30 operational staff, as well as Environmental Quality Management for analytical and geological services at the firm. This role required site visits and extensive travel.• I oversaw the timely renewal of HSEQ operating licenses, and supported internal/external audits to verify safety systems.• I achieved and maintained 100% fatality-free operations throughout the 9 years in this role, during which I trained 3 safety personnel to ensure succession.• I conducted Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS) for 3 capital and private projects in the energy industry, including pre-construction air quality analysis for the largest single-train refinery in the world.• I developed an in-house HSEQ policy framework, thereby qualifying the firm to offer 6 new services.• I liaised with the operations team to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for hydrocarbon analysis GC characterisation, assay testing, crude oil fingerprinting, TPH, PAH, BTEX, SARA, PCB, OCP, THC).
