CurrentHead of the Akwa Ibom State response team to victims/survivors of gender-based violence.As a highly motivated senior-level professional, I handle daily tasks, which include supervising office personnel responding to incidents of sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual or gender-based harassment, relationship violence or stalking; promoting prevention in the form of training and awareness events; and tracking programmatic elements such as record keeping, data analysis, and policy development. I communicate directly and honestly with senior leaders, faculty, and staff members who may have different levels of understanding about their responsibilities as part of a sexual assault prevention and response program. - Serve as a confidential resource for victims/survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking- Develop and implement comprehensive plans for educating about sexual assault and intimate partner violence, including providing training and workshops on healthy relationship promotion topics (e.g. setting boundaries, effective communication, and consent); and violence prevention (e.g. bystander intervention, supporting survivors, promoting helping and referral behaviours).- Establish ongoing relationships with organizations and specialized campus populations to coordinate programming and advise student groups engaged in violence prevention, advocacy, and activism related to power-based personal violence.- Curate programming for Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention Months.
