Mr. Wickwire is a native of Buffalo, New York. Spending formative grade school years in Suburban Pittsburgh, from the start of his education, his scholastic talents were split between “numbers” and “arts”.While pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in finance, he took a trip to Florence, Italy and became increasingly fascinated by the spectacular collections of “cofanetti” (boxes) carved from wood, silver and gold. It was from this fascination that evolved his “cofanetti de fantasia (fantasy boxes): The Florentine Box.The Florentine Box employs Florence’s ornate papers, carved miniature moldings and ornaments to create mirrors, small tables and decorative boxes for luxury homes, studios, stores and more.
