Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Kansas State University with a focus in developing and characterizing electrochemical energy storage materials. The emphasis of my research has been the development of state-of-the-art core-shell electrodes for lithium and sodium ion batteries. However, I have published over 10 papers encompassing many of the other common technologies including solid state supercapacitors, relaxor-ferroelectric capacitors, pseudocapacitors. I am expert in the characterization and evaluation of electrochemical energy storage materials. The electrochemical characterization techniques I'm familiar with include cyclic voltammetery, galavonstatic charge-discharge, self discharge, AC impedance, life cycling and rate capability. I have accomplished many of these techniques using Instruments such as the CHI Electrochemical Workstation, Princeton Applied Research PARSTAT 2273 Advanced Electrochemical System, Ivium-n-Stat Multichannel potentiostat and a MTI 8-Channle Battery Analyzer.During my time at K-State I was the sole operator of a Topcon/ISI/ABT DS 130F Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) where I would conduct routine imaging for colleagues as well as conduct maintenance and collaborate with the service engineer. Moreover, I’m also trained on more modern instruments such as an FEI Versa 3D Dual Beam FESEM and a CM-100 Phillips Transmission Electron Microscope. Materials characterization techniques that I’m familiar with include Raman spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). I also have experience in operating and maintaining other essential instruments such as the Aixtron Black Magic Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition, a Gatan Ion Sputtering system, Perkin Elmer AAnalyst 400 Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and a CEM Discovery SP-Series Microwave Oven.
