I hold a bachelors in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management from Penn State University. Currently I work as an Intern for Boulder Parks and Recreation as a Facility Operations Manager.Previously I worked as a Snowboard and Ski Instructor at Tussey Mountain Ski Area. While there I gained extensive experience working both one on one and in large groups with clients . I taught Penn State Certified Snowboard level 1 classes as well as private and public lessons. I also instructed weekend children and toddler learn to ski camps. This has helped me create a strong customer service background. During my college years I also worked as a Landscaper and Bartender. These experiences further increased my customer service abilities. Being a landscaper expanded my knowledge of running machinery, performing general maintenance, landscape design and working with a team. I am First Aid, CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified. I have served as a Camp Counselor for Shaver's Creek Environmental Center's Outdoor School 2 seasons in a row. This is a week long overnight camp for 5th graders focused on the outdoors and environmental education. My experience with environmental education extends to time volunteered at MillBrook Marsh and Nolde Forest Environmental Centers. With both locations I educated middle and elementary school aged children. Furthermore I have hosted an event at Bald Eagle State Park as part of a college project for an event planning class. My event hosted over 70 people and received very positive feedback. I also hold experience with Park management through the week long Smokey Mountain Consortium I attended. While there I worked with park rangers maintaining back country structures and trails as well as attended many management seminars and training days.
