I developed a passion for working in manufacturing through high school metals classes. I continued to pursue this interest at Iowa State in the Materials Engineering program because of the great staff and connection to a government research lab. While completing my degree, I was involved in two research positions, held a residential advisor role for three years, and was a chair for the Iowa State chapter of Material Advantage. I graduated in Spring 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering after completing specializations in both metals and ceramics. In June 2019, I started my professional career as a Product Engineer for a magnesium and aluminum sand casting facility that made housings for military and commercial aircraft engine makers (Sikorsky, Pratt and Whitney Canada). In April of 2022, I accepted the opportunity to become a Process Engineer at Emerson for the trim machining department.I have a strong desire to use my professional and personal skills/abilities to solve complex problems and provide timely solutions to issues in metal manufacturing.
